Role Overview

As an Associate System Engineer at IBM, you will work within dynamic engineering teams to design, develop, test, and support enterprise-grade software applications. This is a hands-on technical role that exposes freshers to real-world software development practices, modern tools, and large-scale systems , making it one of the best entry-level roles in the Indian IT industry.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks
Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to build scalable, enterprise-grade solutions
Write clean, maintainable code following IBM’s engineering best practices and coding standards
Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing
Debug and troubleshoot application issues, providing timely resolutions
Work with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools as part of the development workflow
Continuously learn and upskill through IBM’s extensive internal training and certification programs

Required Skills & Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or allied CS streams (CSE, AI & ML, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, IoT, etc.)
Minimum 6 CGPA or 60% aggregate: no active backlogs at the time of application
Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language: Java, Python, C++, or similar
Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming (OOP)
Familiarity with SDLC concepts and software engineering principles
Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-player attitude
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
